In 1991, Bhutanese refugees fled their homes and arrived in south-east Nepal where they faced a number of problems such as lack of food and health care. This video demonstrates how the refugee community organised and helped themselves to overcome these problems. Partnership between the government, humanitarian agencies and the refugee women, men, girls and boys themselves was key in ensuring the success of this programme.
